Here is a listing of the classes I currently teach.  If you are interested in having me teach a class, contact me!

Seed Swap.
  Have some extra seeds that you could spare?  Looking for some new varieties for your garden this year? Join us for a community Seed Swap!  Bring any type of vegetable, flower, or fruit seeds and label them with as much information as you have.  Also, get great advice on starting the seeds from Linna the Locavore.   

Square Foot Gardening 101.  Based on the concept invented and made famous by Mel Bartholomew, this class will introduce you to Square Foot Gardening.  It will provide an interactive and hands-on approach to setting up this small space, intensive growth approach. Grow more in less space!  From building a raised bed, creating perfect soil, and planting seeds, you will leave knowing how to build your own SFG. Taught by Linna the Locavore, a certified Square Foot Garden teacher. The All New Square Foot Garden Book and Cookbook will be available for sale at the class. 

Advanced Square Food Gardening. Based on the concept invented and made famous by Mel Bartholomew, this class will delve further into SFG techniques such as planting times, seasonal rotation of crops, crop selection for Virginia, harvest tips and tricks, preservation basics, and other elements of planning, maintaining, harvesting, and using your food.  If you are already using the SFG technique, this class is a good follow-on to help you maximize this gardening style.

Vertical Gardening Workshop. Learn how to maximize your garden space by growing vegetables up not out.  Taught by Linna the Locavore, this interactive and hands-on class will teach you why and how a vertical garden can increase your garden yield.  You will leave the class with a Vertical Gardening Bamboo kit to use in your garden.

Wild Edibles Workshop. Are you curious about what ‘wild edibles’ are and what you can do with them?  Are you looking to diversify your diet and incorporate more greens?  In a simple and hands-on approach, Linna the Locavore, will outline the benefits of wild edibles, how to identify them, and highlight some of the most common wild edibles in our area.  She will focus on providing real world techniques to find and incorporate these plants into our everyday diets. Afterwards, learn how to make those items into a special healthy smoothie and try your own! Leave the class with 'wild edible' transplant that you can plant at home. 

Living Like a Locavore.  Ever heard the term locavore and wonder what it means?  The term ‘locavore’ describes and promotes the practice of eating a diet consisting of food harvested locally, on the basis that these products are more nutritious, taste better, and easier on the environment. Come learn how to integrate local food into your lifestyle, how to identify your local food networks, and how to get the most local foodyou can, grow your own!  Learn about the world famous method, Square Foot Gardening, a small space, intensive growth approach. No matter your gardening expertise, this technique is for you.  Learn from the best as Linna the Locavore, educates you and teaches you about the locavore lifestyle.  Leave with practical tips on how to incorporate more local food into your diet.
